USA Today bestselling author Nalini Singh introduces a world of beauty and bloodlust, where angels hold sway over vampires…
Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she’s the best—but she doesn’t know if she’s good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, only one thing is clear—failure is not an option…even if the task is impossible.
Because this time, it’s not a wayward vamp she has to track. It’s an archangel gone bad.
The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other…and pull her to the razor’s edge of passion. Even if the hunt doesn’t destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just may. For when archangels play, mortals break…
I love Nalini Singh’s world full of Archangels, Angels, Vampires, guild hunters and humans all living in the same world and aware of eachother.
I absolutely loved reading about Elena, her bravery and of course about Raphael. He’s so gorgeously written by Nalini, not to forget his Seven. I found Raphael quite unique in his way of dealing with things as an Archangel should do and rule the world, I love how the Cadre of Ten is written and the other Archangels. They are so mean and vicious, but then again if you’re immortal why should you care about the Mortals who come and go and turn into dust after only a fraction of the life of an Angel?
But you can tell from the beginning that Raphael is intrigued by Elena and vice versa. Their blooming romance and their struggles in finding a way around this whilst being immortal and mortal. I love how his Seven are very protective over Raphael and will protect him from everything. Dmitri is amazingly protective over Raphael but also when he realises that Elena is to stay he’s pushing her buttons so often just to see if she’s able to help herself. Elena is so strong, her relationship with her father is so messed up I do hope they will someday see eye to eye as both have been through a hell of a lot.
The end of the book had me almost screaming to everyone around me to leave me alone in peace to read the ending, it was amazing and heartbreakingly beautiful.
I fell in love with this world and I can definitely recommend to read this awesome series by Nalini Singh.
