Worth the Risk
The McKinney Brothers # 2
By: Claudia Connor
Releasing Feb 3rd, 2015

When a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

My thoughts

Well you know you have just finished a good book when you can’t stop thinking about it and have to try to write your thoughts on paper straight away. And also when you have to stop reading, blame work, and you keep thinking of the main characters – I left them at a kiddies party and I was thinking how they were coping and dealing with the party and with each other. It was nice to come back and start up reading again. Till you come to a point when you have to install another break and you can still remember where you left them – this time I left them in Vegas. How did it go, what would they do right now? You know it is a good book when it keeps you captivated whilst not reading and keeps me company at work. The hours to lunch were dragging as I knew I would finish the book today!
And boy did I!

I first fell in love with the McKinney brothers in their first book, Matt and Abbey, and it was nice to see them in this story as well. How all the kids are and how they are doing. They were a nice sidestory and didn’t outstepped or outrun the main story between Stephen and Hannah.
Hannah runs a cute farm where she helps and supports children with a handicap riding horses. She has a dark past, and has troubles trusting or being with any men besides her overprotective brothers. Her brothers are just as hot as the McKinney brothers and I hope they also will find their HEA’s!

Stephen is plagued by his past as well, where Hannah went through dark times and came out stronger and wiser – Stephen had his life ripped out of his hands by a murder. The dark period after that is nothing nice for him and when he sees Hannah I just knew they were made for each other. They needed each other to heal and help.

The story had me laughing, crying, and sitting on the edge of my seat! Especially towards the end where I hoped Stephen would be brave enough to tell Hannah and Hannah would be strong enough and not hurt enough to give him another chance. To see what and who Stephen really is, and not by what she’s been told by his so-called company partners!

The love for her horses was so dear and clear – it was dripping of the page, I loved that! I also loved that Stephen is now also closer to his family than ever and he also has got his HEA. I hope there will be a book 3 and hope to see both Stephen and Matt featured there again.

I can definitely recommend this book to everyone and it can be read as a stand-a-lone but trust me when I say go read Worth the Fall as well!
