My Thoughts

I enjoyed reading this story loads! The story between Hilary and Mark was quite intense but I really really want them to be together from the beginning, but I did want them to go through the motions and emotions of finding out that they do like each other.

I picked up quite early that Mark had been watching Hilary for quite some time, that his feelings for her were already developing many months before, but because he had an idea in his head of what he is, where he comes from and who’s son he is – he never really made the step! But then the ‘ideal’ situation arises and he sees his change and asks Hilary to be his ‘date’ to his mother’s 4th July fest.

Here comes Hilary, the best hardworking professional assistant there is for Gavin. Man she does a hell of a lot for him and why can’t he see that? I wanted to slamdunk his face and shake him and open his eyes so he would realise what a star he has there!
But reluctantly Hilary agrees to Mark and slowly start to feel more than just friends.
Hilary also battles with a past and also believes that she will always be the way she is because of that – she is after all her mother’s daughter and her father’s daughter – just like her cousin! Yes a very strange twist – and I really disliked her cousin!
Her friend Jo is amazing (everyone need a friend like Jo in your life – just like I have).

The story that then evolves between Mark and Hilary and fighting to not only trust each other but also themselves, trust that they are capable of changing the past. How annoying Mark’s mother is – I actually quite liked her character…

And a grovelling Mark is quite cute!!
